What is an "inchstone" moment?
Baby’s first years are full of many tiny triumphs beyond major milestones like their first word or first steps. ‘Inchstones’ can refer to that first giggle, a messy meal in a highchair, a cuddle with their forever baby blankie – all those sweet, small moments that make the everyday extra special! This year’s Photo Search is about celebrating those adorable moments. For a full list of inchstone moments and criteria, please visit our website portal.
Is the inchstone moment a requirement?
Parents or legal guardians must share one photo in their entry capturing a moment that they want to celebrate from their baby’s life, whether that’s a big milestone or inspired by the additional categories we’ve shared to help capture a more multidimensional view of your little one. The submission of one photo qualifies your baby to be considered for both the 2024 Gerber Baby as well as the additional inchstone moments.

Filtered photos will not be accepted, with the exception of black & white photos. We also will not accept submissions containing text or imagery created with AI (Artificial Intelligence).
How do I know my entry worked?
When you successfully submit your entry, your screen will show a message sharing that your application has been received. We will also send you an email confirmation message from Gerber (make sure to check your spam folder!). Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm via our Parents Resource Center whether specific individual entries have been received.
Who picks the winners?
The 2024 Gerber Baby will be chosen by a panel comprised of our dedicated Gerber and Nestlé USA employees, as well as, for the very first time, the parents of previous Gerber Babies. Each family – including the parents of babies Zane, Kairi, Isa, Magnolia, Lucas, Riley, Isla, Levi, Paxton and the 2023 Gerber Baby, Maddie — will bring their unique perspective to the selection process. Keep an eye on Gerber’s social channels to meet some of our selection committee! The panel will spend about 6 weeks reviewing entries – including during the call to entry period – looking for moments to celebrate from baby’s life, whether that’s a big milestone or inspired by the additional categories we’ve shared to help capture a more multidimensional view of your little one.
Why are you partnering with March of Dimes this year?
Gerber has long supported March of Dimes and their mission to ensure parents and babies are healthy, regardless of wealth, race, gender or geography. In 2022, we extended our partnership to our annual Photo Search program and are proud to continue supporting March of Dimes’ maternal and infant health programs again this year to protect the health of families today and for generations to come.
How do I share my entry on social media?
We encourage you to share your excitement on social media with #GerberPhotoSearch2024 and by tagging @Gerber. Note that sharing does not impact your Photo Search entry.
